Artist Statement
Teresa's inspiration comes from moments of reflection, the rich experiences she gathers from travel, the natural world, and the unspoken beauty she's encountered in life's complexities. Through painting, Teresa has learned that creativity isn't just an indulgence; it's a necessity. It's a way to reclaim identity, find joy, and express the resilience forged through life's challenges. Through her art, Teresa aims to capture the essence of these inspirations, translating them into vibrant and dynamic forms on canvas. Her hope is that her art offers viewers a sense of connection and the courage to rediscover themselves, no matter where they are in their own journey.
Biography
Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, Teresa is a native of the Pacific Northwest, where she currently resides with her husband and two Australian Labradoodles. Teresa holds a BA in English and a MPA in Public Administration (Organizational Development/Nonprofit Leadership) from the University of Washington, where she worked as an executive for over three decades. Teresa and her husband are the founders/owners of Tinte Cellars, a Washington State winery with estate vineyards and a social mission of "Great Wine for the Greater Good." She leads her winery's philanthropic work and is an active volunteer in the community. When she isn't painting, Teresa loves spending time with her New York City-based sons, enjoying live music and theater, hiking, beachcombing, and traveling the globe with her husband.
